Membership Benefits

Membership of NWMES is open to anyone including those without any engineering background but enjoy gardening, building or general DIY or would just like to help us to us to build, run and maintain a miniature railway. Members are encouraged to take part in the public running events the Society holds and appropriate training on all aspects of running such events, including the driving and maintenance of live steam model locomotives, which is available to those members who wish to participate.
During the winter we meet once each month at the Craig y Don Community Centre, Queens Road. Llandudno, LL30 1TE with a programme of talks on various topics of interest and video evening. Interested members of the general public are most welcome at these meetings.
The Society aims to organize at least two trips each year to exhibitions or venues of interest to the members and their families, including the main Model Engineering Exhibitions.

Membership Categories

The following are our membership categories and current subscription rates:

Member                                                                               £45.00 less £3.00 per month from February

Partner of a Full Member                                                £15.00 less £1.00 per month from February

Junior* (under 16 years / full time student)               £22.00 less £1.50 per month from February

There is currently no joining fee but new members are required to contribute to the Company assets by the purchasing of a share in the Company to the value of £1.00.

* Junior members aged, up to and including, 16 years, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.The parent or guardian does not necessarily have to be a Member of the Society.

Membership runs from the 1st January to 31st December each year.
